Hosted Exchange Customer and User Plans

Overview

This page will give you an overview of how you can use Customer and User plans for the Hosted Exchange service. Each section will describe which configuration options are available and how to use them.

User Plan Configuration

Below are the configuration options available in the User Plan Configuration UI, along with descriptions of what each setting does.

General Settings

  • Access Level Message
    A description about the package or plan assigned to the user.

  • ActiveSync Policy
    Specifies an ActiveSync policy for an Exchange mailbox.

  • Anti-Spam Configuration
    Configure Anti-Spam settings for an Exchange mailbox.

    • Anti-spam Bypass – Allows bypassing spam filtering.
    • Junk Email – Options: Ignore, Disable, or Enable.
    • Delete – Automatically delete spam messages (Ignore, Disable, Enable).
    • Reject – Reject messages based on spam rules.
    • Quarantine – Set thresholds for quarantining spam emails.
  • Default Access Level
    Default access level assigned to the user.

  • Enabled Protocols
    Displays available protocols for mailbox access.

  • Mail Databases
    Specifies Exchange Mailbox Databases used for storing mailboxes.

  • Mailbox Storage Limit
    Defines the maximum storage quota before mail sending is restricted.

  • Maximum Inbox Limit
    Specifies the maximum inbox size allowed in the plan.

  • Minimum Inbox Limit
    Specifies the minimum inbox size that can be assigned.

  • OWA Segmentation
    Modify features available in Outlook Web Access (OWA).

    Controls additional OWA settings for an Exchange mailbox.

    • UNC Public Computer Access
  • OWA Web App Policy
    Defines the OWA Web App policy for Exchange mailboxes.

  • Soft Limit
    Automatically increase mailbox storage when the limit is reached.

  • Warning Level %
    Set a percentage threshold before warning users about storage limits.
    Default Value: 0

Mail Archiving & Unified Messaging

  • Mail Archiving (Exchange 2010 / 2013)
    Enables mail archiving for a user.

  • Mailbox Database
    Assign a mailbox database for mail archiving.

    Enables additional unified messaging features.

    • Address Book Access
    • Anonymous Callers (Allows leaving messages)

Mobile & Device Access

  • Windows Mobile
    Enables Windows Mobile support for the mailbox.

Customer Plan Configuration

Below are the configuration options available in the User Plan Configuration UI, along with descriptions of what each setting does.

Public Folder Settings

  • Create Public Folder
    Enables the ability to create Public Folders for the customer.

  • Mailbox Storage (MB)
    Sets the maximum Mailbox Disk Limit.

  • Public Folder Item Limit
    Defines the Item Limit for Public Folders.

  • Public Folder Storage Limit
    Specifies the Post Limit for Public Folders.

  • Public Folder Warning Limit
    Sets the warning threshold for Public Folder Storage.
