Configure Resellers with their own Partner Center connection
Overview
Resellers are granted access to Partner Center connections via the Reseller Service. If a Reseller is also a Microsoft partner, Atria can be configured to connect directly to the resellers own Partner Center. This article will provide a guide to setting this up.
Configuring a Reseller for Partner Center
- Follow the directions to set up a Partner Center connection within Atria using the following article: Connecting Atria to Microsoft Partner Center. The Reseller will need to do this using their own Partner Center Global Admin account.
- Create or locate the reseller within Atria.
- Modify the Reseller Service:
- Enable and Expand the “Azure AD” service
- Select the Customer Plans that you want to expose to the reseller
To change the Partner Center connection for this reseller, expand the customer plan and override the Partner Center configuration. Note that it is not possible for the Reseller to subsequently change the Partner Center connection themselves.
Important Tips for managing multiple Partner Center connections
- To avoid accidental provisioning against the wrong Partner Center connection, we recommend careful planning in setting up your reseller structure and Azure AD customer plans.
- Consider setting up an internal Reseller which connects to your Sandbox account and is only used for testing purposes, you can restrict this reseller to just use the Sandbox plan.
- Follow a naming convention for your customer plans to make it easy to select the right plan. For example - Reseller, Region, CSP Type, Production or Sandbox.
- A Direct Partner Sandbox connection for the European Region would be: “EUR Direct Sandbox”
- An Indirect Partner production connection for New Zealand region would be: “NZ Indirect Production”
- If you operate in multiple Microsoft regions, consider setting up Atria Resellers in each region and map them to their respective Partner Center connections – this will allow you to cleanly segregate your customers into Regions for support, billing, and reconciliation.
